The problem

The morning rush leaves no time for regulars

A neighbourhood café runs on its regulars, but the busiest hour is spent taking orders at the counter.

  • Customers queue to order and pay while coffee is being made.
  • Paper loyalty cards get lost, and the café can’t see who its regulars are.
  • Menu changes mean rewriting boards and telling customers one by one.
  • Orders, the menu and rewards live in different places.

What we built

What customers and staff can do

Menu and order ahead

Customers browse the menu, choose size, milk and extras, and order ahead for pickup.

Pay online, as a guest or with an account

Checkout runs on Stripe. Customers can check out as a guest, or sign in with email or Google to keep their details.

Order status

After ordering, customers can see where their order is up to, so they know when to come in.

Loyalty points for regulars

Customers with an account earn points on their orders, see their balance and redeem rewards at checkout, which gives regulars a reason to sign up.

One dashboard for the café

Staff manage the menu, update orders and look after loyalty from one admin area.

Intended benefits

Shorter queues, more regulars

This is a concept project, so these are the benefits it was designed for, not measured results. We’ll show real results once a client shares them.

  • Shorter queues

Customers order ahead, so the counter isn’t the only way in.

  • Regulars come back

Points give regulars a reason to order again.

  • Know your regulars

Accounts show who your regular customers are.

  • One place to run it

The menu, orders and rewards are managed in one dashboard.

Try it yourself

Try the live demo

Browse the menu, add a coffee or two and check out as a customer would.

The demo runs in Stripe test mode, so no real money changes hands. Use the test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any future expiry date and any CVC.

For developers

Under the hood

Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Firebase, Stripe, Auth.js and Vercel.

  • A real Stripe checkout in test mode, not a mock payment flow.
  • Sign-in with email and password, or with Google.
  • Loyalty points are earned only by signed-in customers; guest orders skip them.
  • Admin pages for the menu, orders and loyalty.
